The excellent beach at Borth and Ynyslas are within a few minutes drive.
Devils Bridge is worth a visit, either by road or on the Narrow Gauge train. The falls are spectacular but the walk is not for small children.

Fishing trips run from Aberystwyth harbour and mackerel fishing is very popular.
Down the coast is Aberaeron with its relaxing atmosphere. The Hive on the Quay sells fantastic honey ice cream and the local pubs are welcoming.
Inland is Tregaron and its famous bog, home to some unique wildlife.
Wednesday is market day in Machynlleth. The outdoor market was granted its Royal Charter by Edward 1 in 1291.
For those that appreciate Real Ale and Good Food we are lucky to have The Druid about 10 minutes drive. The Ffarmers Arms is a bit more of a trek, but worth the visit for its excellent menu and food.
The Druid welcomes children and dogs and serves a great pint of Butty Bach.
