Old Stable
History

The previous owner bought Brynmeurig Farm in 1950. He broke the farm up over the years, possibly to fund his retirement.
When we purchased Brynmeurig in 1991 all that was left was the farm house, barn, an old pig sty and some sheds sat in a field.
The house was in a terrible state, only one tap in the whole building, no drainage. You could see the sky through the bedroom ceilings.

End of 1992 we moved into a caravan in front of the stable. Renovation completed 1993 and we moved into the house.

1998 we started work on the stable. It was in an even worse state of repair, the internal timbers were worm infested, the north wall was starting to collapse. The floor was still cobbles and chains hung in the cattle and horse stalls.

The collapsing wall was rebuilt and the stable completely renovated. Its first use was as an IT business. 9 years later further work was undertaken turning the stable into the holiday let it is now. The first guests stayed 2010.
